A second magazine this month in which I have some wedding photography featured – just a bit further down the newsagent shelf from Professional Photographer and into the wedding magazine section. This time a ‘real wedding’ feature – Amy and David’s ( seriously hot ) Newick Park wedding last July – featured over four pages in the June/July issue of Your Sussex Wedding magazine.

I’m back at Newick Park later this year, to see if it will be a hat trick of scorching days, as the two weddings I shot there last year were two of the hottest days of the year ( could do with some sunshine this year already! ).

As a photographer, these sorts of features are seen as marketing, a chance to get your work seen ( and free content for the magazines/blogs ). Through the photographs, people certainly get to see the work of other suppliers and the venue. Maybe if Newick gets some bookings because of this they won’t charge me for a coke next time? 😉

But I’m not entirely sure they get to see my work really here. The layout is rather cramped, the image selections, not always what I would have chosen and some very poor cropping of some images frankly. I much prefer this layout design of my work in a magazine from a few weeks ago.

But if it makes someone think about my work, look into my work further and then book, then job done I guess.
