Horsham wedding Photography

Exactly one week before Helen and Ben’s wedding in Horsham, the weather had been oppresively hot at a local wedding. The weather changed. The weather was even wetter than the forecast had suggested only 48 hours before. It didn’t phase this very relaxed couple or their family and friends. Rain was dodged – the party carried on. So after a local wedding last week, another one – so rare for me to photograph a wedding in the town I’ve lived in for seventeen years. A relatively new wedding venue too – Five Oaks Events.

But first – Helen was getting ready at her parents’ home in Horsham. Makeup, hair and some pringles… Outside the rain fell. To show just how ‘chilled ‘ Helen was – one of the flower girls was allowed to try on the wedding dress, just before Helen got into it. Instead of the ‘slide down the wedding dress’ request!

Park House wedding ceremony

Once the mansion of the local Horsham MP (in the eighteenth century), now the registry offices, on the edge of the town park. (To reinforce the fact that this was a local wedding. Across the road, during the ceremony, my son was playing Kenickie, in Grease, at the Capitol theatre – I saw it the next day…). The wedding ceremony. Broad smiles, hugs, tears, emotions but strictly no confetti!  – time to then brave the wind and rain again and head for the wedding reception.

Five Oaks Events

A relatively new West Sussex wedding venue location, setup by established caterers/planners, on the road out of Horsham towards Five Oaks and Stane Street. A large tipi – on this day, at first, shelter from the rain. Another wet dash from a car park. But by the time Helen and Ben arrived, the rain had lifted (for a bit) so now the confetti ambush could happen! Drinks in the tipi and then eventually, outside – when the weather played along. Before back in for food (very nice pizza too!) Speeches (more laughter, some more tears) The sun was now out, as the evening guests arrived. Dancing in the tipi and to end this coverage, a picture in the gloom, amidst the lights hanging in the treeline.

Here are a few images from this wet but very chilled out day…

Hi Martin, the photos are absolutely stunning, can’t wait to see the rest of them. It’s going to be very difficult to choose which ones we want copies of.
You certainly have a eye for your profession, well done.

Sincerely
Richard & Denise Benzie
