Burley Manor Barn wedding – Caroline & Lloyd

Burley Manor

Burley Manor Barn wedding photography

Burley Manor, in the New Forest National Park, not far from Ringwood, was once a royal manor. But last Saturday it was the location for Caroline and Lloyd’s wedding day. More particularly, it was the Burley Manor Barn that was where the wedding was held – on a day of autumnal sunshine and showers. Burley usually overlooks the deer sanctuary – but for this weekend, that was taken over by lots of caravans and motorhomes, for a Cider festival!? Not to worry, the barn was on the other side of the hotel

Back when Caroline contacted me, in June last year, the venue was in another part of Hampshire, at Manor Barn in Buriton. But that wedding venue folded at the start of the year. Caroline and Lloyd were lucky to find another venue that could do the same date and a good venue to boot.

So coverage kicks off with ‘getting ready’. The bride and groom, just doors apart. Then Lloyd had a bit of a wait in the corridor before a ‘first look’ with Caroline. He then headed off for his interview with the registrar. A quick slug of fizz from the bottle for Caroline, an emotional visit from her father, before onto the ceremony in the barn.

Married!

Autumn weather!

Showered in confetti – that stayed in the hair for hours – and into the adjoining marquee for drinks. The sun was by now starting to get pushed out by cloud. Rain was coming! A quick portrait in the driveway/car park, just minutes before the rain came. A dash back as the first few drops fell and that was the weather done for the day – it got colder and wetter from then on. The two sides of autumn. But by now everyone was in the barn for speeches and the meal. After it was drinks back in the marquee, as the barn was turned around for the evening, but this was a bit curtailed. It was cold. Most people headed back into the barn, as the band did their soundchecks.

No first dance, just dancing!

…and two boys who had brought their own guitar and drum kit!

Here are just a few images from the Burley Manor Barn wedding….

Comments

As soon as we found Martin’s website, we just knew we had to have him photograph our wedding. This was one of the best decisions we made. Martin was so easy going and made us feel very relaxed. For the majority of the day we didn’t even notice he was there! Martin could not have captured the day any better. We love every single photo he took and we now have the wonderful memories to look back on. We cant thank you enough. Caroline & Lloyd
